   Having read the other reviews I think I may have got lucky with my one, the lid fits just fine. I’ve done lots of rice based meals in it (bacon fried rice,yum!), and had no issues at all with it. It doesn’t take up too much space on the worktop and can easily handle enough food to fill up a dad and teenage son. Certainly much easier than constantly watching a saucepan.

   Used it loads, for brown and white Basmati rice. Always turns out well! There are four of us in the family, and two cups of rice makes enough for us easily. (The instructions don’t give a ratio of water to rice, but just google around). It is easy to clean. The rice starch does go a bit thick on the bottom of the inner pan when it cooks, same as in all rice cookers, but it tastes fine. Much easier than cooking rice in a pan.

   It cooks rice, it’s a good size for 1-2 portions, and it’s cheap. Those are the facts and for that it’s worth it.But as far as overall quality goes, there’s often a hard layer of rice along the bottom of the pan, and it spits rice water all over the kitchen side throug the steam hole so it’s a bit of a mess. You get what you pay for!
