Having never used one before, I bought something cheap that would be ideal to cook rice sides for two people. We have used it so many times since buying it. The instructions are easy to follow, the rice is delicious and it is really easy to clean. If any rice sticks I just soak the bowl in hot water and washing up liquid for 10 minutes but it has a non-stick coating so a dish brush usually does the job fine. I love the the rice can stay warm for up to 5 hours after cooking by leaving it on the warm setting. Ideal to leave for my husband if I’m going out for the evening. Wholegrain rice just takes an extra 5 minutes. I would say if the rice is just a side portion for your meal, it easily does 4 people, not tried doing any more than that. Easily 2 people where rice is the main dish.

Arrived Wednesday – I’m writing this on Sunday morning. We’ve already used it three times, because it’s just so good. It cooks rice to perfection,then once it’s done it automatically switches to a ‘keep warm’ mode. This means you can turn it on, leave it, and come back to it when you’re ready to eat.We’ve found the ‘keep warm’ feature useful on another level too – the rice seems to be even better if you allow it to ‘rest’ a little after cooking, using the ‘keep warm’ feature.This may sound bizarre, but I’m convinced the rice not only tastes better, but smells better too.Ignore the odd negative review (not sure what happened with those folk) and buy – you will not be disappointed.
